leaks everywhere August 15, 2007 Reviewer:  LH (Portland, OR)  See all my reviews >

I have this same blender in a clear red plastic base. The bottom tends to leak liquid and the plastic container doesn't rest very securely in the motorized base. Mechanical failures aside, the plastic pitcher doesn't clean well- I mostly used this blender for smoothies and found that, no matter how much I scrubbed, the pitcher always had gross fruit bits stuck to the plastic. Don't waste your time or money on this thing. I'm throwing mine out and buying a model with a glass pitcher and more reliability.

One BAD blender! August 9, 2007 Reviewer:  AhJay See all my reviews >

We bought this blender thinking we we're getting a quality Oster product. Dream on!

The plastic jar is so lightweight, that no matter what speed you're using, it shakes and rattles, sometimes to the point that the cover flies off!
The outside of blender unit gets very hot when in use, even for a short time.....NOT a good sign.

Take my advice.....stay away from THIS blender!

This review was a tough one... July 17, 2008 Reviewer:  AirForceWife86 "Destiny D" (Pleasant Hill, IA)  See all my reviews >

I was very hesitant in choosing my stars for this blender. On one hand it is very cheap & I fully believe that you usually get what you pay for. It does mix things well that are almost completely liquid to begin with (daiquiris or other drinks for example). But anything that is more solid like ice cream or ice cubes - this blender is very obviously not made for these uses. So, if you're using it for mostly bar uses or just a party here or there I would recommend it but not for heavy or frequent use & definitely solid foods! Buyer Beware!

I bought this to mix some ingredients for a recipe, I figured hey I'm on a budget 19.99 and after one try it breaks down! You barely get what you pay for! I'm surprised oster made this!

You get what you pay for... April 4, 2008 Reviewer:  S. Muhammad Real Name See all my reviews >

I make smoothies on a daily basis, and my old (Hamilton Beach) blender finally broke after years of use. I was in a rush to get something cheap that I hoped would do the simple job of blending frozen fruit. For $20, this was the cheapest way to go. I also thought, hmm a plastic jar could be different, lightweight, and not a big heavy cumbersome thing to wash all the time. But let me tell you...DO NOT BUY THIS BLENDER!!! First, I'm not sure what kind of technology (or lack of) they are using for the jar to fit onto the base, but I think that is one of the main problems. The jar never feels like it is locked into place, and even at the lowest puree setting, the base vibrates UNCONTROLLABLY and moves all over the counter, to the point where I'd be scared to lift my (two) hands off of the top. I mean, I really have to hold this thing down! Second, the blending is HORRIBLE. I have to use a spoon to keep pushing the fruit down EVERY SINGLE TIME. I have nicked many a spoon since purchasing this blender. Third, the flimsy soft top takes some pushing to get it to fit into the mouth of the jar. Fourth, how about the time I used it on the highest setting, I started seeing smoke?! Fifth, that plastic jar is FULL of scratches...from trying to push the fruit down with a metal spoon, and just from general dishwashing and storing. Long story short...pay money for a good blender, it will be worth it! I'm getting ready to return mine for something over at least $50!

poor quality blender December 27, 2008 Reviewer:  burning ear See all my reviews >

We bought this item because the price was under [price] and looked decent. Though it does have a stainless-steal blade, the product is incredibly loud which progressively gets worse over time....at any speed or button selection. It also seems to blend just about everything the same, and if we turn it on for more than 5 seconds, I feel like i may start seeing smoke (note, it has not caught on fire yet but i also haven't left it on for longer than 5 secs....)

Cant wait to try to return it!

Unmitigated Disaster May 5, 2008 Reviewer:  fdoamerica "AMG" (Norcross, GA, USA)  See all my reviews >

It is very sad that Oster put its name on such a piece of crud. I have used a 10-speed Oster blender for 18 years ... it was a work horse and would be on my counter now had not the blender jar fallen on my tile floor. When I looked for a replacement it was $14.95 plus shipping [from another website] but Target had a new Oster 10-speed for [a few dollars more]. No Brainer, Right? Thus, I bought this model and found out what a piece of junk it is. The noise level is extreem, it must exceed 90dB - (the noise level of a leaf blower - really!) The vibration is so intense you can not take both hands off of the unit.

What happened to quality control at Oster, or Target for that matter? But then again, you get what you pay for. But wait, on a positive note, the plastic blender jar worked fine.

Major DUD! April 26, 2009 Reviewer:  Andyco "Andy" (Los Angeles)  See all my reviews >

I purchased this blender two weeks ago and have probably used it 15 times or less making vegetable or fruit smoothies. The blender broke where the metal spinner connects to the mechanism that turns the blade. Beneath the metal was plastic. Do not buy this blender. It is a DUD!
Too bad I have already lost the receipt.

Buyer beware !!! December 1, 2008 Reviewer:  Dis-Satisfied "D. S." (USA)  See all my reviews >

The worst piece of kitchenware I've ever bought! Using it for the first time to make a margarita (crushed ice) the clear plastic round cap inside the cover fell through the cover as I held my hand on top! ( I held my hand on top to prevent the ice from bumping out of the blender). So, in doing this the cap got all chewed up in the blender. Poor Quality! It is probably why, not even Oster wants it back, they offered to replace the cap. The problem with that is that the cheap cover is so flimsy the cap will fall back in again.
Bottom Line? I lost my money!

Not worth the cheap price June 25, 2008 Reviewer:  P. Brashears "Trisha" Real Name (Missouri)  See all my reviews >

It does what its intended to do, but considering the level of noise that comes out of this thing and the fact that it needs to be held down when in operation (otherwise it vibrates itself off the counter) makes it a terrible buy. I'm planning on donating this to my work place breakroom and investing in a better blender.
